Olive Oil and cardiovascular diseases
Olive oil is considered a "good" fat because it's high in monounsaturated fatty acids.
Research put in evidence that monounsaturated fatty acids ,when substituted for saturated fats, help lower "bad" cholesterol or LDL, (which can cause the arteries to clog, potentially leading to heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke) and increase "good" cholesterol or HDL (1,2,3)
